Become FireSmart: Community Leaders
Who is a FireSmart community leader? Someone who advocates for FireSmart in your community.
You may be a town Councillor, community planner, fire chief, community association chair. You are someone who is motivated to take and lead FireSmart actions that will influence your community.
There are many actions you can take that will influence your community’s relationship with wildfire. There is no one approach that is right or wrong, choose the actions you think are right for your community today and build off of those successes.
A few actions for you to consider:
- host a FireSmart event for your neighbourhood
- speak to your local authority about FireSmart and have them acknowledge the FireSmart: Protecting Your Community from Wildfire into an official record.
