Become FireSmart: Building partnerships

Fire fighters, municipal governments, wildfire agencies, local industry, First Nations Councils and local residents can work together on FireSmart initiatives.

Preparing for wildfire should never be done in isolation. Meet regularly with you’re your FireSmart committee to discuss:

  • Upcoming fire season conditions
  • Sources of wildfire ignitions
  • Location of recent wildfires
  • Community concerns and barriers to implementing FireSmart
  • What role everyone will play in a wildfire event

I commit to remove all long grass, shrubs, logs, branches, twigs and needles within 10 metres of my home
